Mediation Pricing

I offer a structured, transparent pricing model designed to keep mediation accessible, predictable, and significantly more affordable than attorney-led litigation.

All fees below apply to services provided in Montgomery County, Texas and surrounding areas.

To maintain clarity and compliance, Divorce Mediation is priced separately from General Civil and Family Mediation.

Note: Pricing is for remote sessions. In-person sessions will incur additional fees, TBD before commencing. *If paying by check, mediation will commence after check clears.

Divorce & Co-Parenting Mediation Pricing

A supportive, organized path through divorce — with no surprise fees

Divorce mediation includes structured sessions, neutral facilitation, document review, financial organization, issue-mapping, and preparation of a Mediated Settlement Agreement (MSA) in accordance with Texas Family Code § 6.602.

As a non-attorney mediator, I do not provide legal advice.
Instead, I guide you through a clear and organized process that results in a court-ready agreement reflecting the decisions you make together.

Mediation Support Blocks

$1,000 per Mediation Block
(2-hour remote session + up to 2 hours of professional support)

Each block includes:

  • Review of uploaded financial and household documentation

  • Spreadsheet organization of assets, debts, income, and budgets

  • Neutral, guided mediation to resolve decisions respectfully

  • Summary notes + clear next steps after each session

  • Interim agreements as appropriate

  • Reasonable message/email/phone support between sessions

  • Progress tracking and preparation for agreement drafting

You are not expected to have everything figured out right away.
We take this one step at a time — and I guide you through each phase until your decisions are complete.

This structure ensures your case steadily moves forward without the worry of unpredictable hourly billing during decision-making.

Agreement Options & Starting Points

Agreement drafting is billed at $300 per hour.
Most standard agreements fall within the starting fee ranges shown below.
A time estimate will be provided before drafting begins, and you will only be billed for actual drafting time.

Document Type Includes Typical Starting Fee
Marital Settlement Agreement (MSA) Financial division, property/home, retirement, vehicles, debts $1,500
MSA + Parenting Plan Package Full MSA + co-parenting roadmap + schedules $2,250
Parenting Plan Only Parenting schedule, holiday/annual plan, communication expectations $750
Complex Asset Add-On (if applicable) Business, rental property, investments +$450–$750

You receive a clear estimate before drafting begins — so you always know what to expect.

Transparent & Supportive Billing Policies

  • Each new session is approved by you in advance

  • Drafting time is estimated upfront and tracked clearly

  • You’re welcome to involve consulting attorneys at any time

  • No hidden or unexpected charges

My priority is to keep your transition as smooth, efficient, and low-conflict as possible — while making sure you fully understand the financial and practical decisions you are making.

You don’t have to navigate financial spreadsheets, legal language, or overwhelming decisions alone.

You get:

✓ Calm guidance
✓ Clear information
✓ Steady progress
✓ Trusted referrals
✓ A court-ready agreement
✓ A respectful process that protects your well-being

General Civil & Family Mediation (Non-Divorce)

For mediation needs outside the divorce context — including business disputes, landlord/tenant matters, co-parenting communication (outside of a divorce or SAPCR case), extended family conflict, workplace disputes, or other interpersonal matters — the following pricing applies:

Hourly Rate: $300/hour
With a two-hour minimum for the initial session.

Session Structure

  • Neutral mediation and facilitation
  • Issue identification and agenda setting
  • Communication guidance
  • Problem-solving and consensus building
  • Identification of actionable next steps

This work is billed hourly because the scope and complexity of non-divorce cases can vary widely.

Non-Binding Mediation Summary (MOU)

Many clients want a written record of what was discussed or agreed to during mediation.

As a non-attorney mediator in Texas, I can prepare a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Summary of Agreements that:

  • Outlines the key points reached in mediation
  • Organizes agreements by topic
  • Uses plain language
  • Helps parties move forward with next steps
  • Can be used when consulting with attorneys or preparing a legally enforceable document

Drafting Rate: $300/hour
Most summaries take 1–3 hours, depending on complexity.

Important: This document is not a legal contract and is not intended to be enforceable in court. Parties may choose to use this summary to prepare their own binding agreement or consult with legal counsel.

What This Service Does Not Include

To remain compliant with Texas law regarding the unauthorized practice of law (UPL), the following are not offered in non-divorce mediations:

  • Drafting legally binding settlement agreements
  • Drafting contracts or releases
  • Drafting enforceable parenting or visitation agreements (outside a divorce or SAPCR)
  • Drafting documents intended to be filed in civil court

Parties should consult an attorney if they need a binding legal agreement.

Cost Comparison: Why Mediation Is More Affordable

Traditional attorney-led divorces in Texas typically cost $15,000 to $30,000 or more per family, particularly when property, retirement, or parenting decisions are contested. Much of that cost is driven by conflict, delays, multiple court filings, and billable time for two attorneys.

Mediation takes a different approach.

Most families who work with me complete the full process — including the written agreement — for approximately $5,000 to $8,000 total, depending on the number of sessions and the complexity of financial and parenting decisions.

This means mediation is often a fraction of the cost of litigation, while offering a more efficient, respectful, and constructive path forward.

Financial and Practical Advantages of Mediation

PathTypical Total CostWhat You Are Paying For
Attorney-led litigation$15,000 – $30,000+Conflict, delays, hearings, court preparation, attorney negotiations
Mediation with a structured support model$5,000 – $8,000Clarity, decision-making support, organized documentation, timely progress

A Better Use of Family Resources

You remain in control of the outcome.
Your process stays focused and productive.
Your family’s well-being — including your financial stability — stays at the center of the process.

It's a Simple Process
